The "What if..." game
The "What if..." game

- What if Apple introduces the next big thing on Wednesday? Then, everyone will be happy and the stock will rise. That one is easy.
- And what, if not? If the "new" iMac is just another paint-over? Not a radically new concept? What if Steve has nothing left up his sleeve? What if one hour is devoted to developer and customer testimonials on how good Mac OS X is? Don´t dismiss this possibility. What if Steve´s Reality Distortion Field is not enough this time around? What is Plan B?
- I realise that this sort of speculation is totally useless. Let´s dream about the next big thing. I quite like the idea of the LCD all-in-one with the detachable display. What I would need is a cheap iMac-without-a-display, though. Although I realise that I am pretty unique in running a business on Macs, so a Business Mac is probably not very high on Apple´s agenda.
- I need to learn how to create a business. I thought I was an entrepreneur already, but this point of view has changed. The point is I am quite good at marketing, CI, technical things and so on, and I´ve made a comfortable living out of it so far. But, I need to learn how to model a business so that it works without me. So that I have some time off, so that I do not need to work all the time or the business does not work.
- I am currently working on a course about how to build Web based applications with FileMaker Pro. One idea would be to turn that into a web page, the other would be to create an self teaching course and offer it through one of our clients, the PC & Mac Education Ltd.
- My brother and me also had the idea to create a project we call "Virtual Leoben". It is a QuickTime VR tour of his new home town in Austria. It would be a brilliant thing on which to learn how to create a business that runs itself. One or more persons as a sales representative. One person to maintain the site. I need to think about it. It would be a lot of work, though. Great potential, though.
