- Some think, today is The Day. Overhyped as usual, Steve´s keynote can not be anything than disappointing. Apple is a rather conservative business. When it released the iMac, it could not do anything but gamble. It could only win, there was nothing to loose. Now, there is shareholder value and a profit, albeit a narrow one. Not the right climate for revolutions. Plus, there is The Cube and its fate. All three basic desktop PC forms are covered: box, cube and all-in-one.
UPDATE: Talk about disappointing. The coolest thing was the 10.1 Demo. Very promising. The other things were bad news, in my opinion. With the new iMacs, Apple is beating a dead horse. It may carry as a bread and butter business, but it has stopped to inspire people. The portable lineup is not matched by the desktops regarding the emotions the products transport.
Over here in Europe, the new lineup also means that Macs get more expensive once more. Apple is now lacking a mid-range offering. A large gap opens between the iMac and the entry level G4.
Analysing the financial news of yesterday, it may well be that Apple is holding off the next big thing to coincide with a economic turn around that Fred Anderson hoped for in the analyst call. For me it means that I am stuck with 14 inch monitors for some time since I can not afford to use a G4 with a 17 inch display as an office machine. Sad, sad.

- I am thinking about reworking my business according to the E-Myth principles. I want to try it. I am also thinking about starting with a small part that can be factored out of the current business in order to experiment. If that works, the rest can follow. Is that a good plan? I want to create a website to log the progress and to document the process. So, people can learn from this. Maybe we can even get some big shots to participate. I dream about a web based community learning project. Now, how to put it to work?
