- The order of the day seems to be spreading FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt). An email is circulating claiming that the CNN footage of Palestinians celebrating was shot in 1991 when the Iraq invaded Kuwait. (Hi Björn, thanks for sending me a copy).
- This crisis is bringing out the worst in people. Better not believe anything you see or hear.
- I should have seen this coming. Back in 1991 when CNN discovered IRC as a source of information about the gulf war, we chatters used to invent news that would pop up on CNN a couple of minutes later. If anything, the web adds to the cloud of misinformation that is covering any major event of these times.
- The propaganda will fully kick in when the military action starts.
