Decisions you have to live with

Just two weeks ago, we purchased a second PowerBook G4. Damn. Well, it still is an amazing machine and I guess the new ones run even hotter (temperature wise). The only thing that could really be a bummer is the battery. (And the harddrive. And the video. Damn, damn, damn.) I haven´t seen this one coming. I think the desktop line needs a lot more work than the portable line. Not that I don´t like the new configs. (Damn.)
So this was planned for Apple Expo in Paris. Hmm. Does Apple give up on the consumer desktop? And what about a pro entry level machine? The current Power Mac G4 are much too expensive to waste them on administrative staff. People are putting iMacs under their desks now and use an external 17" screen at their work places. Rather rediculous. Typical Apple, the Cube was canned before its time. Now with Mac OS X being the only UNIX that runs M$Office, the Mac could really become an Office machine again. If, and only if, Apple soon releases an "iMac" without builtin Monitor. - Discuss (1 response)
