I posted the problem regarding BBEdit and PDFs to the Barebones tech support via their web form expecting an answer maybe tomorrow afternoon. They replied within less than 4 (!) minutes! On a sunday afternoon! Wow! Go, buy their stuff. (This post must contain more exclamation marks than the entire rest of the site...) BTW, the problem does have a solution: Turn off QuickTime Translation in the Application Preferences. - Discuss

BBEdit has a bizarre problem with Mac OS X. Some files can not be opened as text files any more - the whole point with having a text editor, right? Specifically, I need to open PDF ASCII files to see what they have in them. BBEdit opens the file but shows the rendered PDF. Strangely, we double clicked a Photoshop file and it opened in BBEdit, too! Even displayed as an image. Sometimes the OS is too good. - Discuss
