WWDC Trip - Day 9 (Monday)
Tue, May 30, 2000; by Oliver Breidenbach.

As decided yesterday, we take it more easily today. Just the short 200 mile drive to Oregon City where we meet Peter¥s other family.

On the way we find a lake which has been cut off by a dam.

You may guess as for what this picture shows. Is it upside down?

Once there, we need to get in! Peter tries the key, but it doesn¥t work. Fortunately, he remembers a way in through the ventilation system just like in Mission Impossible. I watch him getting in through the windows. The camera fails, unfortunately.

We go to a mall catching up with the shopping and seeing the movie Dinosaurs. It never fails to amaze me to see the number of people they use in making the movie. The story is a bit simplistic, but the computer animation just keeps getting better and better.

We establish base camp on the families kitchen table.

Afterwards we sit in the garden under a tree and I catch up on my journal. There is a picture of my PowerBook in its natural habitat.

After a while, the family starts pouring in.

We spend an interesting evening with these nice people. When the younger ones leave, I understand what Peter likes so much about America.
