John Grisham is one of my Must Have authors. Usually his books can be bought without another look.
This one promises to be a political thriller. Indeed some of the stories plot reads like a Tom Clancy novel. The other half of the plot is original: A couple of high profile low security prison inmates, all high judges before their fall, create a mail scam to extort money from secretive gays looking for some love adventures. Meanwhile, the CIA conspires to manipulate the Presidential Election in order to increase profits for devense contractors.
The political part seems to be a little over the head of John Grisham who seems to think that money alone gets some person elected. Unfortunately, at this point the plot looses authenticity.
A final recommendation will be posted after I finished the book.
